DISCLAIMER: This article will not cover anything related to politics.
Plus, I'm dedicating this article to those that lost their lives in 2024. May you all RIP!
Last January, I set a goal for myself. It was no ordinary goal. It was to get out of my comfort zone, but in a big way.
It was to be fully independent. One part of it was to go to drive on my own more and go to places on my own.
Highlights:
Improved my social skills - Potential girlfriend in the works? We'll see.
Drove on my own more
Started working at The Ringling and thrived there
Employee of the Month for July/August
Got my benefits for the foreseeable future
Volleyball and pickleball continue to dominate
The non-woke Hollywood figured it out?!
Being active > being glued to a screen 24/7
The Sports World:
A new type of Panther wins the Stanley Cup over the Oilers
Celtics win NBA Finals with ease over the Mavs
Dodgers win World Series over the Yankees
Niners have the brainfart of the century in the Super Bowl, allowing the Chiefs to score back-to-back Super Bowl wins in a nail-biter. Always know the rules.
Michigan wins the Natty over TCU
Max Verstappen wins his fourth F1 championship in a row, while McLaren takes the Constructers Championship
Joey Logano shows the world how confusing NASCAR and everything they've been doing is by winning his third championship
Speaking of NASCAR, Michael Jordan and company took the league to court
Lions are AWESOME
Eagles complete their meltdown by washing out of the playoffs in loss to Bucs, then pick up Saquon Barkley, start off the next season iffy, and become fantastic again!
Vikings, Packers, Texans, Chargers, Broncos, Steelers, Bills, Commanders, Royals, Guardians, Mets, and Phillies all showed their existence.
Just about every other QB taken in the draft > Caleb Williams
Alex Palou wins his third IndyCar championship
College football became the hotspot for upsets
UConn and South Carolina won March Madness
Caitlin Clark mania was a thing through this year
Lowlights:
The heat and humidity
The hurricanes and resulting hostility
Traffic and its trials - Symbolic of life
The CEO of United Healthcare is killed
Snow White, The Acolyte, Madame Web, other half-assed cash grabs disguised as entertainment, etc.
Mass shootings are apparently still a thing. All thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families at this time
Other things:
Travis Kelce and the singer named Swift are everywhere
Someone actually beat Tetris
A drunk girl got her own podcast, then got into Crypto...both for some reason
Mormon wives got their own reality show
To recap: 2024 still left a few holes to fill, but I made a start by socializing more and going to more places on my own.
Here's to an amazing 2025!
