Completion of a Manuscript for a Novella

Abstract: This Creativity section was meant to build my writing skills for writing my novella. Creative writing has been a writing for me ever since I was a kid and I wanted to take the next big step in my passion by seeking new people that would help me become published in a form of genre that I want to do. I have worked on a genre-bending novel. Along the way, I found people to help edit my manuscript before sending it on a Word Document and the EDGE Program was definitely the place to be at making anything happen.

Larger Purpose: The larger purpose of this was to take the next big step in my writing path. It was a big deal to send me to the next level in the writing business which I am yet to reach in my life. This changed the way I see the publishing world. This was both a personal and professional accomplishment.

Project Goal: For my updated EDGE Project, I planned to get a form of writing closer to publishing and more people would be interested in working to make the novel known to the world.

Outcomes: After completing this project, I have gained exposure to agencies and the writing world as some of the best possible opportunities out there. The rejection from Summer Solstice Publishing was discouraging but it also expanded my knowledge to see where this would take me as a writer for anything.

Deliverable: My planned deliverable was my form of website regarding the work and progress, like I did with the other proposal that I wrote. I have presented my to book to prove that I have finished the process of self-publishing. A few days ago, I dropped off my project at the EDGE Center to have my mentors and professor look at it. It has since been evaluated and approved by the professor. Here is the finished product.

Differentiation: The differentiation of this set me in a literature part of communication that my peers haven’t done yet. This set me in another place that few people I know have reached because it was a professional piece of literature that I plan to talk people into.

Costs: The costs that I have found on Lulu.com were pretty cheap to make a book, like roughly $2 or more to make a cover of any piece of work. $2.85 for a short cover book is what my family I spent.

Timeline: It started from my declaration being reset in February. Ever since then, I constantly worked on it. I worked on the manuscript all summer long and during the Fall Semester when I wasn’t so busy. My submission was on November, the same date as setting my progress scale to 100%. The finishing date, however, was on December when I published my story onto Lulu.com.
